It's important to me, and to the concept behind 'Play Portraits', that the children's work I am recreating is as exact as possible to the original drawing. To ensure this, I scan the drawing into my computer, resize it appropriately in photoshop, and print it. I then cut it out and arrange it around the drawing I have already done of the child, placing it how I want around the figure. When I have the composition I want, I use carbon paper to go over the child's lines and transfer the image exactly. I also enjoy copying over the child's signature, if they've learned how to write their own name, and placing it on their painting.
